Founded in 2022, the Muskogee Governance Project is a policy advocacy group located in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Our Story

Started in 2022, The Muskogee Governance Project (MGP) is a non-partisan policy advocacy group.

Initially created to help organize and run the Muskogee Citizen Information Portal. MGP has grown into a citizen advocacy and direct political action organization.

The Muskogee-Gov Project operates as a non-partisan policy advocacy group. We work with local and state officials to ensure policies adequately reflect the needs of Muskogee County.

MGP is a completely volunteer run and only operates on a part time basis. In order to maintain our transparency and neutrality, MGP does not accept outside donations. We are self funded through donations from founding members.

The Muskogee Governance Project is currently incorporating as a 501 c (4).

MGP provides community stakeholders with clarity on policy issues.

Muskogee-Gov Project works to foster civic engagement.

MGP works to constantly expand information available on the Information Portal.

MGP crafts long terms plans to improve Muskogee County.

MGP works with elected officials to create a fiscally responsible and inclusive budgets.

Trey Wainman

Founder and Project Lead

Orginially from Hartford, Connecticut. Trey attended Muskogee High School from 2021-2022. Upon graduation, Trey founded the Muskogee Governance Project. Trey is currently a college student pursuing degrees in political science and public administration.
